Health & Safety Policy

General Statement of Intent

  • The Company is to give, so far as is reasonably practicable, Health and Safety matters appropriate priority in all situations and conduct its operations in such a way as to ensure the Health, Safety and Welfare of all its employees.
  • The Company requires that high standards of safety, health and welfare be achieved and maintained at all its sites, works and offices.  To this end of the Company will ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, that:
  • Safe and healthy methods of work are adopted at all times;
  • Safe and healthy working conditions are maintained;
  • Employees and sub-contractors are made aware of potential hazards and the control measures to be adopted;
  • Employees and sub-contractors are trained in safe methods of work and the safe and efficient operation s and maintenance of plant and equipment.
  • The Company Safety Policy will be reviewed at regular intervals; not exceeding two years, in order to meet current legal requirements and any necessary amendments will be communicated to all employees.
  • The Company will ensure compliance with the Policy through a thorough monitoring programme and enable speedy rectification of any problems which might arise.
  • All matters concerning health and safety will be implemented only after full consultation with employees in line with the requirements of the Health and Safety (Consultation with Employees) Regulations 1996.  The employees have the right to nominate safety representatives under the Safety Representatives and Safety Committee Regulations, 1977 and request the organization of the safety committee.  The Company also feels that there is a requirement to consult with employees under the provisions of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, 1992, and the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations, 2007.  The Company wishes to encourage full employee participation in all matters relating to health and safety.
  • The Company recognizes that all employees have a duty to both themselves and their fellow workers, to exercise due care and good judgement in safeguarding their own safety and health.  In particular each employee has a duty to make proper use f protective systems, equipment and clothing provided by the Company and to comply with all proper instructions relating to health and safety matters.
